Chariot ("we", "our", or "us") is a Bhagavad Gita learning app. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Locally on your device: Your reading progress, quiz scores, streak count, bookmarks, and app preferences are stored locally using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in.
If you sign in (optional): We store your email address and display name in Firebase to sync your progress across devices. We do not sell this data.
Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use Chariot and improve the learning experience. This includes events like verses read, quizzes completed, levels finished, and features used. Analytics data is aggregated and does not include personally identifiable information. We also use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports to improve app stability.
Feedback: If you submit feedback through the app, your message and user ID (if signed in) are stored in Firebase to help us improve Chariot. You can also submit feedback anonymously.
Notifications: If you grant permission, we send daily reminders at your chosen time. You can disable these in Settings at any time.
Advertising ID (Android only): On Android devices, we collect the Advertising ID to measure app install attribution and understand how users discover Chariot. This ID can be reset or disabled in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads). We do not use it to serve personalized ads.
Chariot uses the following third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted immediately. Anonymous crash logs are automatically deleted by Firebase after 90 days.
Chariot is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
